It's sad that we teach our kids drills on how to Run, Hide or Fight an active killer in school, but won't teach them about preventing death through controlling massive bleeding, airway obstructions and shock. Let's look at Parkland, Florida...According to statistics, out of the 17 deaths, 11 of them could have survived if someone would have immediately focused on stopping the bleeding, keeping them breathing and keeping them warm (simplified). When one student recalled watching her teacher bleed to death in front of her "for 30 minutes"....We knew we needed to teach our kids and yours how to save lives.
We have a down and dirty 4 1/2 hour course that will teach our kids how to apply pressure, use a tourniquet properly, consider airways, utilize the recovery position, do head-to-toe assessments, prevent shock (*) and simple triage.
These same skills are vital for car accidents, private property accidents or any other time that simple medical skills can save a life.
