If you don't recognize this picture ^^^^ and you're on your church's security team, we need to talk. Why? There's a good chance that you are too relaxed about your obligation to the congregation. This picture is from an attack last Sunday in Michigan. I'd bet you a dollar that their church security team never thought they'd actually ever have to do their job. But they did. You need to be studying previous attacks, attackers and staying sharp on your skills to perform accuracy under pressure. Hopefully we see you on July 14th for the church security seminar and then July 15th for the Pistol Tactics class.
You need every advantage you can get when your church is attacked. And the body won't go where the mind hasn't...so train for the fight.
What to expect:
This isn't a basic pistol class. You will need to have a solid understanding of firearm safety, and be able to handle your firearm safely from a holster during this training. We will review safety standards at the beginning so everyone is on the same page.
This class will run through utilizing cover/concealment, timed draws from your holster, engaging moving targets, shoot/no-shoot drills, multiple target engagements, pressure drills, HR concepts, elevated heart-rate shooting and more. This is level 1 stuff as far as tactics go, but they are as up to date as you can get...so the stuff you used to do back in the day as a ________ (fill in the blank) is good, but not cutting edge. Stay sharp! We can build on these principles if your team desires...but this is the best place to start.
What to bring:
-Range clothes you can get dirty.
-Ear/eye protection (prescribed glasses are fine and so are sunglasses)
-Quality working handgun.
-150-200 rounds.
-Quality concealable holster carried inside your waistband or outside your waistband on your strong side. No cross draw, cloth holsters, pocket holsters or drop leg holsters. You can reach out to us if you aren't sure if you have a decent holster for this or not. Having a holster made of Kydex is good starting standard.
Course cost: $75/per person and class size is limited.
